A christmas party . Something new , something fresh , and something different from what usual order of Sgt. at arms , President's opening , the project speeches , the evaluations , and the table topic round . Something the Gulf Gaveliors got this particular morning .
Sure , the Gavel Club started at the ( usual ) 9 o Clock and ended at the ( usual ) 11 o clock on the ( usual ) Saturday morning . Sure it had the ( usual ) Project Speeches and the ( usual ) project speeches . But whatever took place after those things was anything but " usual. "
.The Gavel Club Sergeant At Arms started the morning , reading the Missions of Toastmasters International , and requesting ( yeah right ) the gaveliors to " switch of their mobile phones " and asking them to " refrain from talking during the session. "
The president Rohith Rao , opened the session and wished everyone a " Merry Christmas " and handed the stage to our gavelior of the day , Ayush Singh who inturn asked for Vishnu Venkatesh ( Mr.Eco-Club ) to present the word of the day ( Exalt : to raise , to elevate ) and then randomly called upon Aadil Shaam for the thought for the day ( Patience is a virtue to success ) .
After the thought for the day and the word for the day , we had the project speeches with Rohit Rao who inspired with his interesting speech about his dreams , and his desire to compete in the CBSE Swimming Competition , and then we had the Patriotic speech by Kanchan Rajiv about Indians living their life around their world , and how they can and should show people of other Nationalities what a " True Indian " is like . Aditya Tyagi spoke about his after-examination activities and how he kept himself entertained using his " pranks " and other methods .
The evaluations were presented by Karthik Rajagopalan ( who evaluated Aditya Tyagi ) , Vijayshree Krishnan ( who evaluated Rohit Rao ) .
The party which took place after the evaluations involved a lovely chocolate cake ( thanks to Toastmaster Usman ) , a round of " Musical chairs " , followed by a game of " Dog And Bone ." Aadil Shaam won the round of musical chairs , and the team headed by ( President ) Rohit Rao succeeded in obtaining the higher score in the game of " Dog And Bone . "
There was dance session from Hijaz Ahmed ( who won the best dancer prize ) , Rohit Rao ( who won the second best dancer prize ) , Aadil Shaam , Vijayshree Krishnan , and last but not the least , Toastmaster Sujatha herself ( :D ) .
The 60th meeting of The Gulf Gaveliors proved to be a success partly due to fact that the list of attendence proved to be longer than any other at a different time of the year mostly because the " group " had a lot of fun . The meeting was then concluded at 11:30 AM .
Karthik Rajagopalan won the best evaluator certificate , while Rohit Rao won the " best speaker " after completing his 10th and final project in the " basic speaker's " guide ( a great achievement for the club ) .
( NOTE : THE NEXT GULF GAVELIORS MEETING TAKES PLACE ON JANUARY 8th )
